Sydney Football Stadium

Client: John Holland

The Sydney Football Stadium redevelopment has seen a number of Honcho products being utlised to protect surfaces and help keep workers & pedestrians safe.


Honcho Chief Board - Concrete wall protection (voms). Chief boards were cut and shaped to temporarily attach to the concrete surrounds of stadium staircase walls. The protection will help ensure the voms are free from defects such as staining and impact.


Honcho Boss Mat HD - Boss mats have been laid out on stadium upper levels as well stadium ground levels to provide clearly designated pedestrian thoroughfares.


Skudo HT Commercial System - The HT Commercial system has been temporarily adhered to concrete stairs, landings and upper level walkways.

Sydney Opera House


Honcho Supplies provided Impact Protection Boards and Temporary Adhesive Mats to the Sydney Opera House’s $275 million high-profile renewal project. Surface protection was supplied for existing surfaces on site, including the concert hall, external site areas, and various internal thoroughfares. 


The supply of the Sydney Opera House renewal project required meeting specialised requirements – including the custom protection of existing internal concrete, and zero residue being left anywhere across the site from adhesive protection materials in situ for nine months.


Our impact protection boards have been used to protect a variety of surfaces include external & internal granite and timber surfaces within the main concert hall.

Sydney Modern Project

Client: Richard Crookes Construction

In 2022, Honcho had the opportunity to provide surface protection to Richard Crookes for the Sydney Modern Project.


As part of the construction, a heritage oil storage tank was refurbished, and our Honcho Fire Rated Chief boards were used to protect the concrete flooring from EWPs and general construction activity.


The project involved multiple sections and necessitated the use of numerous meters of Honcho Fire Rated Boss Mats to ensure the safe movement of workers from one area to another.



Sydney Tennis Centre

Client: AW Edwards

Honcho Supplies provided Impact Protection Boards to this large scale Sydney project in the Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre at Homebush. 


Protection was provided for the new state-of-the-art world class centre court of the Ken Rosewall Area, and centre court one, during the $50million construction of a new canopy roof.


Our impact protection boards were used to protect existing surfaces from framing, large vehicles (including cranes) and impact from dropped objects.


Due to the boards water resistant qualities the boards were able to provide protection externally (>6months) without the risk of flaring up or warping

Sydney Metro Central Station

Client: Laing O'Rourke

Our Honcho Fire Rated Boss Mats have been extensively used in the Sydney Central Station Metro project.


The construction has seen several visits by dignitaries who have utilized our mats to provide safe, designated walkways for conducting inspections.


Our Boss Mat Safety Walkways not only provide safe access for pedestrians but also add a professional touch to the event with their red carpet-like appearance.


Melbourne Metro Project

Client: VIC Government

Honcho has been providing temporary surface protection and safety walkway mats to several major civil construction companies during the construction of Victoria’s multi-billion-dollar Metro project.


The Honcho Fire Rated Chief Boards have been utilized to safeguard concrete pillars and flooring, while the Honcho Fire Rated Boss Mats have been installed to provide workers with high visibility, non-slip pedestrian walkways.


Both products are ideal for use on major civil projects.

Impact Protection -Powerhouse Museum (Castle Hill)

Client: NSW Government

In 2023, the Castle Hill Powerhouse museum team reached out to Honcho for assistance in safeguarding a newly constructed warehouse. The warehouse is used to display heavy machinery and vehicles to the public, and the concrete floor required heavy-duty protection to prevent damage during vehicle transportation and storage.


Honcho used a combination of the Honcho Fire Rated Chief Board HD (Heavy Duty) and BM (Beast Board) to provide the necessary protection.

Impact Protection -Crown Casino - Barangaroo Sydney

Client: Top Knot & Deemah Stone

Builder: Lendlease

Due to the project schedule and limited access onsite numerous trades were required to work simultaneously. Meaning there was a continual requirement to protect already installed surfaces from other trades.


Honcho Supplies provided Chief Board HD to protect engineered hardwood floorboards & kitchen joinery for Top Knot during the fit out of residential appartments in the Crown Casino, duration for protection - approximately six months.


The Chief Boards HD were also used by Deemah Stone to protect stone surfaces inside the Crown Casino appartment bathrooms. 

Edmondson Park Shopping Centre

Client: Nash Tiles / ProBuild

Honcho Supplies provided Impact Protection Boards over newly installed flooring for internal public areas and foyers during the construction of the Edmondson Park Shopping Centre in Sydney.

V8 Supercars – Newcastle

Honcho Supplies provided Speciality Concrete Protection for existing public infrastructure which had been converted into a pit area for V8 supercar teams.

Data Centres

Melbourne Metro Tunnel

Client: Cross Yarra Partnership (CYP)

Honcho Supplies provided Safety Walkway Mats to provide non slip, designated walkways for workers within high traffic areas of the metro tunnel during construction.

Cranbrook Boys College

Client: Richard Crookes Construction

Honcho Supplies provided Chief Board HD to protect finished concrete surfaces during construction, and safety walkway mats for high traffic areas on this Sydney site.

Banksmeadow Commercial Project

Client: Taylor Construction
